Junior Brown Plays Knoxville

July 13, 2003 - One of my favorite musicians is Junior Brown. This guy has a style all his own, borrowing from country, folk, jazz, blues, and rock. Junior plays a custom made "Guit-steel" - a combination electric guitar and slide steel guitar.

Junior played the "Sundown in the City" concert series, which has moved from downtown to what is known as the Old City. The concert was basically held in a large overflow parking lot behind several resturants and clubs. Although the clouds threatened to rain, one chord on Junior's Guit-steel forced the rain into hidding. Then the party really began.
