Orphan Maker

Head: Morph's Wolverine head (X-Men by ToyBiz)
Rest of Figure:
Trevor Fitzroy (X-Men by Toybiz)
Completed: around 1998-1999

Details: Even though the character design is very simple, I've always liked the look of the Orphan Maker. From the expressionless faceplate, to the giant guns, the character just screams cool.

The base for this figure is Trevor Fitzroy, because it already had the arm and glove details that I needed. The wrist bands and the extra high boots are from Miliput. The shoulderpads are scrap vinyl from a Green Goblin vinyl model kit. The head is the Wolverine head that came with the Morph figure. It was trimmed down and Miliput was used to make it smooth. The facesheild is more vinyl scrap. The antenna in the side of the head is a cut and slightly sanded paperclip. The entire figure was primered in grey and then was airbrushed to give it that uneven appearance. Take a look and in places you can see the grey peaking out in low areas.

The gun came from Quark from the X-Force line. The clip was cut from the bottom and added to the side. The granade missile launcher was made from a scrap piece of Miliput that had hardened when I was learning how to work with it. The scrap was sanded into the appropriate shape. The barrel is extra plumbing pipe. The missiles underneath the launcher are made from plastic spur from old model kits and the holder for the missiles are small plastic stands that went to miniature Spanish soldiers that I used in a highschool diorama of the Alamo.

This is one of my personal favorite. Seems like you don't see a lot of Orphan Maker customs. Then again, you don't see a lot of the Orphan Maker in the comics either.
