Dazzler

Entire Figure: Rogue (X-Men by Toybiz)
Completed: around 1995

Details: This was my very first custom action figure. Since I had made teh decision to take the plunge into customizing, I decided to work on a character that I dearly loved - Dazzler. Since female action figures were somewhat scarce in 1994-1995, I decided to go with an Animated Dazzler look since the Rogue figure had a short jacket.

As mentioned above, the figure is a modified Rogue figure. I sanded all of the long hair away and rebuild the back of the figure and the hair with putty. If you're curious, with a little bit of work I was able to retain the "power punch" figure in her left arm. I also sanded the knee length boot cuffs.

The base is two piece of wood glued together to form an "L" The bricks are thin strips of wood that I cut and then grooved. I was going for a not-exactly-realistic look on the brick, and I think that it came out fine. The street trash was tissue paper dipped in a solution of white glue and water.
