Figure: Air Assault Cable (X-Force by Toybiz)

Details: I'm a big fan of Cable. I've always liked the character since his appearance in the pages of New Mutants. It seems that Cable has had more costumes, looks, and character directions than most Marvel characters. One of my favorite Cable looks is his future look in the first three issues of the Cable ongoing series. This was the only time that Cable had a beard and a ponytail.
The figure is a slightly modified Air Assault Cable. The figure from the neck down is spot on, minus the jetpack which I removed. For the head, I sanded the shaved line completely around his head above his ears and added a ponytail from a piece of scrap vinyl from a Green Goblin vinyl kit. The beard is putty.
Since the figure was relatively easy to create, I decided to make a dynamic base. This was made from the circuitboards of two VAX computer terminals. Extra circuitboard pieces came from a dot matrix printer. The pieces were epoxied together and are mounted on a thin wood base. The back of the circuitboard has a thin layer of hot glue over the sharp solder points, to keep from scratching things.
