Details: When Star Trek First Contact came out, I was really excited to see the crew in new uniforms and with a new look. One of my favorite uniforms was Picard's, which when the top jacket was removed, it revealed a vest. I had a lot of fun going back to the movies and sketching out the different costumes from this movie to make into customs.
The base for this figure was Chakotay, since it was slightly shorter than other figures and it had the added leg/thigh joint. I sanded the lower waist to make it smaller and sanded lower arms to make the cuffs on the sleeve. Supersculpy was used to make the vest and communicator. Putty was used to fill in the "V" color" on the uniform.
The phasor came from a Geordi figure. I removed the firing beam, sculpter a carrying holster for it and gave it a paint job. Why Playmates Toy's couldn't paint accessories, I'll never now.
This is my favorite Star Trek custom.
